What did you make from the... little bit of this and little bit of that left-overs in your fridge?
Well... TAKE A LOOK... I made this... Just think what you could do..
Broccoli - High protein breakfast... Broccoli steamed with cinnamon stick drizzled with hot sauce ~ Fried firm tofu topped with homemade roasted red pepper hummus ~ Fried egg sprinkled with smoky paprika... Protein is so important for muscle health... I've found that there are so many different ways besides meat to get your protein... this is just one of them..

**I know my writing style is a non-conforming style... as my brain thoughts now jump around a lot... making this an easier way for me to express myself... also to edit... and edit... and of course edit... My first few posts are getting me used to using a computer again.. but I promise more interesting food will follow**

As an artist... I have always loved to extend my art to include all kinds of food... My experience has been... eat with my eyes first... by appreciating all the love and beauty food holds... not only to nourish our bodies... but to enrich our social lives... the added benefit... foods healing qualities...

Over the years people have been asking for my recipes (even more so in these later years)... or for advice about food in general...the storage of... pairing of... or the growing of..( garden issues)...

With my late developing food sensitivities... instead of enjoying all foods... without any lingering thoughts as to how it was prepared... that freedom of choice is now a distant memory... creating a big dilemma in my food choices... ranging from... the possible damage it may cause my body if I choose to eat it... as well as... impacting the knowledge I needed gain to eat the right food for proper absorption of needed vitamins and minerals to keep my body healthy...

My foodie self... took this as a new way to challenge my cooking skills... not only to replenish my body... while it is fighting against me... the angst of not wanting to eat because of the pain its going to cause me by doing so...

So I'm inviting you to join me... along my journey to adapt my recipes and those that were taught to me by others... to serve my new needs... and still satisfy my love of tasty beautiful food... by exploring and seeking out wonderful replacements for common staples... and sharing the natural ways to decrease the constant pain that have worked for me... through the food I eat...

My body is in constant pain... so now... I try to lessen the pain by eating plenty of food that will help me naturally... this morning... hot sauce and ginger tea to reduce swelling in joints...

Well... serious health issues (including speech and motor limitations) was the  point for this blog ... Speaking is a constant struggle... so I started taking pictures of the steps I took to make the different dishes... this allowed me to relay the process to the young and upcoming adventurers a.k.a  chef in the making in my life... pain management with food...

I have really good days and really bad days... sometimes... both kind on the same day... since my fondest memories were cooking with my family... I am writing this as a type of PT to recall my memories... hopefully I will be creating new receptor paths for my thoughts that were damaged from brain trauma...

Taking advantage of the good days... I prepare my prep foods for the week (sometimes months depending on item) and store them in the freezer ~ fridge ~ or pantry... I will be sharing these tips soon...

This allows me to grab the amount I want from the jars that are... ready to be emptied and brought to life in a new way...to ensure that my love of a new idea doesn't quickly become a lost memory...  One thing I do is... start right away when the idea is growing in my mind... get my phone ready to take pictures along the way (one ~ to show you the steps I took... and two ~ so I don't forget myself... *taking notes along the way also helps*)... It's a heart-breaking feeling when you make a wonderful surprise dish that leaves you wanting more... but alas.. you can't remember what you put in it... this is my new reality...

If you keep your favorite flavors on hand.. it is a tremendous advantage as far as time and creativity... If you are trying something new... try and keep it in you pallet range... then... as you get more daring... expand by adding or replacing one ingredient the next time to any current recipe you enjoy now... that way you are not to disappointed if you worked hard on something and it wasn't quite what you thought it was going to be... but no worries...

Another advantage to this pattern of cooking... is that it allows you to create something new out of something that didn't quite turn out the way you expected...  and by exercising your flavor muscles (brain to taste bud ratio)... and make something totally different and wonderful out of it... remember what my Mom always said... "Never waste food" and "there are no mistakes in cooking...it's just new recipe waiting to happen'...

I hope you have enjoyed my "little (hehe) introduction" to my page... as I grow more accustom to this format... I hope to take you along with me on my quest for healing through food... My goal is to perhaps give you a bit of information you may or may not have thought of... or that... aha moment when you read or see something that reminds you of something your mom or grams made it for you when you were young... hold on tight as I take you on a journey into the many cultural foods I had the honor of learning... from home cooks that shared their cherished recipe's with me from their homelands  ... and some tips on how I manage getting over the obstacles I've encountered with my new limitations...

Please feel free to ask questions.?.
P.S. I will be posting as fast as I can... it takes a while some days ;-)
Feel free to check back...
